Vaccination for 16+

Today Governor Kay Ivey and the Alabama Department of Public Health announced that starting Monday, April 5, COVID-19 vaccine eligibility will be expanded to individuals 16 years and older. Here is a link to the Governor’s release

The Pfizer vaccine is available for those 16 years or older, and the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are both available to individuals 18 years of age and older. Currently ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥ only provides the Pfizer vaccine.

Updates have been completed to ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥ registration form to allow all anyone 16 years or older to register for any available time on April 5 or later.

COVID-19 Information

To protect patient privacy, ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥ has established a minimum threshold of five for reporting numbers of inpatients with laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19.

ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥ Health System internal counts as of 1:25 p.m. on 4/2/21:

  • Nine inpatients within the ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥ system who are positive for COVID-19.
  • Five or fewer inpatients who are positive for COVID-19 are being treated in the ICU.
  • Five or fewer inpatients who are positive for COVID-19 are on ventilators.
  • Five or fewer who are positive for COVID-19 are on a BiPAP.
  • 8,603 (cumulative) unique positives for COVID-19 tests including results from the ED, triage tent and inpatient. These individuals are not necessarily in the hospital.
  • 40,037 (cumulative) unique negatives for COVID-19 at ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥ sites.
  • 10,401 (cumulative) positive COVID-19 at ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥ sites. These individuals are not necessarily in the hospital.
  • 75,065 (cumulative) negative tests at ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥ sites.
  • 3,017 inpatients (cumulative) who were positive for COVID-19 have been discharged.
  • 544 inpatients (cumulative) who were positive for COVID-19 have died at ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥. This is not an indication of the cause of death, only that the individuals were positive for COVID-19 at the time of death.
  • 300 Tuscaloosa County residents (cumulative) who were positive for COVID-19 have died (per the Alabama Department of Public Health).
