Expanding Vaccination
Today, the Alabama Department of Public Health announced that STARTING Feb. 8, all individuals in phase 1b (not just firefighters, law enforcement and 75+) AND those in phase 1c who are 65 years or older, WILL BE ELIGIBLE to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Other groups in phase 1c do not yet qualify.

新月直播’s online vaccine registration form has been updated to include the new categories for those who are eligible. Additional appointment times from 7:30 a.m. to 8:20 p.m. have also been added to the week of Feb. 8-12.

Testing and Confirmed Cases
To protect patient privacy, 新月直播 has established a minimum threshold of five for reporting numbers of inpatients with laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19.
新月直播 Health System internal counts as of 5:27 p.m. on 1/29/21:
- 114 inpatients within the 新月直播 system who are positive for COVID-19.
- 27 inpatients who are positive for COVID-19 are being treated in the ICU.
- 9 who are positive for COVID-19 are on ventilators.
- 13 who are positive for COVID-19 are on a BiPAP.
- 8,052 (cumulative) unique positives for COVID-19 tests including results from the ED, triage tent and inpatient. These individuals are not necessarily in the hospital.
- 35,404 (cumulative) unique negatives for COVID-19 at 新月直播 sites.
- 9,719 (cumulative) positive COVID-19 at 新月直播 sites. These individuals are not necessarily in the hospital.
- 63,655 (cumulative) negative tests at 新月直播 sites.
- 2,622 inpatients (cumulative) who were positive for COVID-19 have been discharged.
- 483 inpatients (cumulative) who were positive for COVID-19 have died at 新月直播. This is not an indication of the cause of death, only that the individuals were positive for COVID-19 at the time of death.
- 195 Tuscaloosa County residents (cumulative) who were positive for COVID-19 have died (per the Alabama Department of Public Health).
